The annual ceremony in 2019 was graced by Guest of Honour, alumna Professor Melissa Teo Ching Ching, who was the former Head of the Surgical Oncology Unit at The National Cancer Centre Singapore. Dr Teo, now in private medical practice, delivered an inspiring speech to an audience of students, parents, teachers and invited guests, on the motivations in her youth that led her to pursue a career in medicine and ultimately becoming a very skilled cancer surgeon who is a strong advocate for improving cancer care in Singapore. Her indomitable SCGS spirit and determination to succeed served to encourage all present to have purpose in life and perseverance in realising their goals.

During the momentous occasion, Dr Teo graciously handed out awards and prizes to well deserving students for academic, leadership and service achievements.

It was a joyous day of celebration as current students and old girls who returned to their alma mater from different post-secondary pathways, gathered to proudly receive recognition for their years of hard work and dedication to excellence at SCGS.
