After 12 illustrious years at the helm of the SCGS Alumni, Dr. Serene Toh stepped down from her role as president. Dr. Toh will continue to serve, in 2019, in the capacity of executive committee member and also, the head of the Peranakan Night Planning Committee. She is also a member of the SCGS school board.
The alumni committee met up over a sumptuous Thai dinner to celebrate the closing of a high point chapter of the alumni under her leadership.
The alumni commissioned a special piece of art from Kimgek Natalie Kwee, who is the co-founder of local illustration powerhouse 8EyedSpud. A simple, yet poignant two panel drawing of Dr. Toh in front of the iconic Emerald Hill campus in the definitive blue SC uniform, and of her in her Sunday best in front of the Dunearn Road campus— signifying two distinct, yet interlinked epochs of this Kimgek’s service to the school. The evening boasted lively camaraderie, and many sweet moments recounting shared memories. Dr. Toh continues to be an ardent supporter of the alumni and school and her legacy of dedication and generosity will continue to inspire us for generations to come.
